EEE Component Engineering
The Spur Electron Component Engineering team provides specialist expertise to the international space and defence sectors, supporting projects that require high-reliability electronic components for long-term, harsh or non-maintainable environments.
Components must be carefully selected to meet strict mission requirements for quality, reliability, radiation tolerance and heritage. As technologies rapidly evolve, newer components may offer significant advantages but often lack proven performance in demanding operational conditions.
Where qualified or proven options are unavailable, Spur Electron provides expert guidance and technical assessment, including:
• Replacement device selection with proven reliability history
• Constructional Analysis (CA) to evaluate long-term robustness
• Lot Verification Testing (LVT) and Radiation Verification Testing (RVT)
• Quality Conformance Inspections (QCI) and independent inspections
• Obsolescence monitoring, including Last Time Buy (LTB) and Process Change Notifications (PCN)
Spur Electron also manages the Parts Approval Document (PAD) process through to the Parts Control Board (PCB) with the end user, ensuring compliance and reliability throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with in-house laboratory specialists and the procurement team, Spur Electron provides continuous engineering support across the entire component procurement cycle.
