On July 2nd 2022, Spur Electron celebrated its 40th anniversary. Happy 40th!
Founded in 1982 by Malcolm Snowdon, Spur had the original vision of being a management consultancy for the space industry. Originally operating in a potting shed, Spur moved to its current site in 1992 – coincidentally on its 10th anniversary of operation. Spur was growing to the point where Spur Electron had a sister company in the name of Spur Information Systems – an IT software solutions company. Therefore, Spur had fingers in many pies; not only were we (and continue to be) active in the space industry, but we also had a role in the IT world!
The legacy left by Malcolm Snowdon has allowed Spur Electron to be an important player in the constantly evolving space arena. In an industry once led by high reliability, Spur Electron also has an active interest in the commercial aspect of space. To accompany this, Malcolm’s legacy has allowed highly-skilled, passionate and technical individuals to be a part of Spur over the years.
To commemorate Spur’s 40th anniversary, we would like to thank all of those who have been a part of Spur over the past 40 years. It is the hard work and dedication of everyone who has contributed to Spur’s efforts that forms part of the bedrock of Spur today. Onwards and upwards at Spur Electron!
